In summary, all these programs serve different purposes. I haven't used Addictive Drums but from what I heard it was closer to EZ Drummer in functionality/quality. Especially if you're triggering the samples with E-drums instead of programming them in. If you buy SD and the expansion packs on sale (and it goes on sale practically monthly or bi-monthly) then I'd say it's a much better choice than Slate. You can really get in and mold your sound a lot better. Superior Drummer is closer in price to Slate and the SDX expansions are far better samples and more comprehensive. The EZDrummer program as well as the sample library expansions are not supposed to be completely comprehensive. EZDrummer is (and is meant to be) easy to use and fast. I don't think your comparison choices are fair.
